Jasper Carrott and Alistair McGowan had the audience at The Lowry in stitches on Sunday night, writes Danielle Roper

With a collection of stand-up shows, comedy series and game shows under his belt, it’s not surprising Jasper Carrott bagged the gong for Lifetime Achievement at the Comedy Awards in 2008.

But it’s his stand-up that I think the nation has fondest memories of.

Who can forget sketches like the hilarious ‘nutter on the bus’ and ‘the insane cat’?

Although it’s been a while, Jasper Carrott, real name Bob Davis, is still a huge draw on his own, and coupled with impressionist Alistair McGowan and his uncanny portrayals of the likes of David Beckham and Sven Goran Eriksson, I feel quite confident this will be a show to remember.

What it is in fact is a good, safe bet.
